The Journal of Policy and Governance Inquiry (JPGI) requires all authors to prepare their manuscripts strictly in accordance with the structural and formatting specifications outlined below prior to submission.
1. GENERAL MANUSCRIPT FORMATTING
- Title: Font size 14, bold, Title Case (capitalize the first letter of each word). Maximum length is 25 words.
Example: Policy Adaptation and Institutional Resilience in Public Sector Governance: A Comparative Study of Urban Municipalities
- Author Name(s): Full name(s) only (without academic titles or institutional affiliations in this section), listed directly beneath the title with numbered superscripts. Font size 10. Use an asterisk (*) immediately after the superscript number to designate the Corresponding Author.
Example: Md Shah Alom1, Farzana Islam Khan2*, Trisita Saha Biswas3
- Main Text & Body: Font size 9, single-spaced, standard 1-inch margins on all sides.
2. HEADINGS FORMATTING
All section headings must be written in UPPERCASE, font size 9, bold, with no colon following the heading, followed immediately by a line break before the body text.
3. ABSTRACT & KEYWORDS
- Word Count: Maximum 250 words.
- Font Size: Font size 9.
- Abstract Structure: The abstract must be structured continuously using the following bolded inline headers: Introduction:, Objectives:, Methods & Materials:, Results:, and Conclusion:. (Note: The section name "Methods & Materials" must be used; do not use "Materials and Methods").
- Keywords: Must follow the abstract. Include 3 to 5 keywords, set in font size 9 and italic.
4. AUTHOR AFFILIATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE
Author details must be placed beneath the main abstract/author block.
- Font Size: Font size 8.
- Required Information: List author designation, department/institution, place of posting (city/country), mobile/telephone number, official email address, and ORCID ID for each author corresponding to the superscript numbers.
5. MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE & MAIN BODY
The main body of the paper must strictly follow this order and section naming convention:
- INTRODUCTION
- OBJECTIVES
- METHODS & MATERIALS (Note: Must be titled "METHODS & MATERIALS", not "Materials and Methods")
- RESULTS
- DISCUSSION
- CONCLUSION
- ACKNOWLEDGMENT (Optional)

6. TABLES, FIGURES, AND ILLUSTRATIONS
- In-Text Citations: Whenever a table or figure is referenced in the text body, its designation must be italicized (e.g., Table I, Table II, Figure 1).
- Tables: Number all tables using Roman numerals (e.g., Table I, Table II) placed above the table. The table identifier (e.g., Table I) must be bold, followed by a line break, with the descriptive title appearing underneath in regular text (not bold). Alignment must be left-aligned.

Comparative Performance Metrics Across Selected Municipalities (2024–2025). - Figures & Illustrations: Number all figures using Hindu-Arabic numerals (e.g., Figure 1, Figure 2) placed directly below the illustration. The figure identifier (e.g., Figure 1) must be bold, followed by a line break, with the descriptive title appearing underneath in regular text (not bold). Both the identifier and title must be centered.

7. CITATION & REFERENCE STYLE
- Reference System: Manuscripts must follow the Vancouver Reference System, set in font size 8.
- In-Text Citations: In-text citations must be formatted in superscript within square brackets at the corresponding position in the text.
Text Citation Example: Recent administrative reforms have reshaped public service delivery models[3].
- Reference List Format: Listed numerically at the end of the paper in font size 8 following the standard Vancouver format.
